The development of television

In the world of mass media and the development of technology and sciences, television plays an important role in every-day life of the average citizen in all parts of the world. It's the usual scene when you see a person sitting in front of the TV set eating something and living in the world of soap operas or movies. Children, parents, their grandparents and everyone watch TV every day. Television is really a necessary invention that keeps us in touch with every part of the world, giving us the latest news and entertaining us the whole day round. It is also a good way just to waste time. It also educates and raises our cultural level giving a great amount of useful information on ethnic, scientific, social, political, economic aspects of life. But no doubt it also makes the person forget about the whole life and stay in front of the screen watching his/her favourite TV show. It also contains thousands of so called "trash" programmes, shows and movies that it is very hard to choose something really interesting and useful.

Nowadays you can hardly find a country that has no television. It is the most widespread way of getting information and entertaining. From ancient times people have been trying to transmit the picture at a distance. The proof is the numerous tales and stories about magical creatures and things that could do that.
